New Brunswick Prime Minister Shawn Graham, elected in 2006, has set a 2010 target for the provincial utility to secure 400 MW of wind-energy generation capacity.
New Brunswick energy minister Jack Keir says the provincial electric utility will evaluate submissions based on a number of criteria, but first and foremost will be the price of electricity.
This is to ensure that New Brunswick rate-payers continue to receive competitively priced electricity, he says.
