TenneT said the first tender for the 700MW Borssele zone, due to take place in early 2016, will be postponed after the legislative hitch.
CEO Mel Kroon said: "The decision of the Senate is disappointing for everyone who has worked hard on the realisation of offshore wind.
“The [first tender for] the wind field Borssele is now postponed. The development of offshore wind energy in the Netherlands is thus delayed.
