The 50MW project, set to start next year, is expected to generate 5% of Mongolia’s electricity.

Mongolia has vast wind energy potential via its sparsely populated plains and wind corridor along the Gobi desert.

However, it also has plentiful coal and a population of less than three million, creating little incentive thus far to develop new energy sources.
